About

Founded in 1985 by its current CEO, Maurice Prost, Mikros image is dedicated to visual effects and is a major player in the post production industry. In early 2007, the Italian media group and public company, Mediacontech, acquired the total capital of the companyMikros image.

Managed by Gilles Gaillard, Mikros image encompasses all aspects of post production: advertising, feature films, TV, video clips, video games and corporate communication.
With its headquarters in Levallois-Perret and a second studio on the rue d’hauteville, heart of Paris, Mikros image is home to 150 full-time collaborators and about 70 freelance artists.

Mikros image delivers over 300 projects per year covering all fields (feature and short films, advertising, TV, corporate communication, video games and video clips).

In May 2008, the Cannes Film Festival awarded « The class » directed by Laurent Cantet with the highest distinction-the Palme d’Or, for which the post production was handled by Mikros image’s passionate team.

Mikros image has recently opened a subsidiary in Belgium, WFX, to grow its activities in Europe. In the US, Mikros image has signed a partnership with the American post production and visual effects company Eight VFX to take on to set up and develop a series of common projects on feature films.

Last but not least, in March 2010, Logorama won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

Octobre 2010 : Opening of LFX to develop services for feature films.

Novembre 2010 : Opening of Mikros image Brussels to develop post-production services for advertising.

Décembre 2010 : WFX moves in Pôle Image de Liège and changes name to Mikros image Liège.

June 2011 : Mikros image signs a partnership with Swiss post-production house Freestudios. Creation of a label ” Freestudios+Mikros image.”

October 2011 : Mikros image opens a studio in Montréal and begins to work on feature film Je vous ai compris directed by Franck Chiche.
